Lunchtime at our school is about much more than eating lunch! It is a great opportunity for students to relax, have fun, learn new skills and spend time with friends. Our lunchtime clubs offer a wide range of activities, giving everyone the chance to get involved in something they enjoy.
Throughout the week, students can take part in a variety of clubs, from games to creative and social activities. Whether you enjoy being creative, solving problems, reading, making things or simply trying something new, there is something for everyone, including a board games and chess club, craft club, makeup tips, Spanish club, film club and a farming club.
Our lunchtime clubs are also a wonderful way for students to meet people from different classes and year groups. They encourage teamwork, friendship, confidence and creativity, while providing a welcoming space for students to enjoy their lunch break.
Our Chess Club gives students the chance to learn, practise and develop their chess skills in a fun and friendly environment. Whether you are completely new to chess or already know your rooks from your bishops, everyone is welcome!
Our chess players also have the opportunity to represent the school at chess tournaments, putting their skills to the test against other schools. We are incredibly proud of our recent success, with our team achieving an amazing second-place finish in the Connaught Cup in Galway.
Chess is a great way to develop concentration, problem-solving, strategic thinking and confidence — all while having fun and making new friends.
